Empower Missouri envisions a nonprofit sector where every organization is advocating for key policy changes alongside their direct service offerings, and our training programs and resources are designed to make that possible. We offer a variety of resources through our coalitions, but for individuals or organizations that want to build their skills, expand their advocacy, and make a bigger impact on changing policy to improve lives, our training programs are here to help.

We offer:

  • Several events offered throughout the year to offer training, support, or advocacy opportunities such as our Week of Action, Anti-Poverty Advocates Summit, and the Advocates Book Club.
  • Advocacy 101, Ethics in Organizing, and Messaging training programs that nonprofit organizations can schedule for their staff to help get started in legislative advocacy.
  • The Advocacy Accelerator, a nine-month in-depth training program for organizations seeking to deepen their internal advocacy capacity.
  • Fellowship programs for individuals who want to learn how to use their own experiences to help make change in the areas they care about most.
  • Presentations on policy issues, advocacy skills, and other related topics, available for your organization or event.
