Missouri Food Security Coalition Meeting

Empower Missouri would like to thank everyone that was able to attend last month’s Food Security Coalition meeting. We hope that those who were not able to join will be able to be on our upcoming call, which will be held on Friday, August 28th at 9am.

We are hosting the meeting this Friday because we believe the next two weeks is a critical time to reach out to our Federal Delegation Members as they return to D.C. and work to pass a COVID-19 relief package.  We need to continue to impress upon them the importance of including housing and hunger relief in the package.

There is much to be done!

During our call, we will hear from Chonya Johnson from Bread for the World. She will share with us what they are hearing on the ground in D.C. on the progress towards a relief package and what actions we can partake in to help!

Additionally, we will hear from Caitlin Whaley from the Missouri Department of Social Services regarding the nutrition programs they run, especially changes to the rules and regulations of them in light of COVID.

Again, the next meeting will be this Friday, August 28, at 9am. Register HERE for the meeting.
