ustice InternPatrick Benson is a senior at UMSL in the Social Work program. This semester he is completing a BSW practicum at Empower Missouri, as he is planning to focus his graduate studies on policy. Patrick has worked with Empower Missouri for the past two years on the Clean Slate Initiative, and is a stakeholder both personally and professionally in this policy, as a former justice-involved citizen and also a case manager at Criminal Justice Ministry for the Release-to-Rent Veteran (R2R-V) program. He is a Marine Corps veteran and a past participant of CJM’s R2R-V. Patrick is passionate about advocating for individuals that have been marginalized by our current governmental and social policies.
