Amanda Berry

Food Security Policy Manager

Amanda Berry has spent most of her life in Southern Missouri. As a sustainable farm owner, operator and certified permaculturist, Amanda recognized the need and demand for information surrounding food self-sufficiency. Amanda previously served as a program technician with the United States Department of Agriculture delivering assistance programs to Missouri farmers as well as working on disaster relief jump teams throughout the state and PR. She then switched to the Non-Profit sector as the manager of the Valley Educational Garden Initiative for La Puente Inc. managing food security programs within the San Luis Valley, CO.

She studied agriculture at Darr college of Agriculture, Missouri State University and finished her undergraduate at Southeast Missouri State University. Amanda went on to earn a Master of Arts in Human Rights with a focus on food and nutrition security at  the University of Arizona. Amanda joined Empower Missouri in 2024 as a Food Security Policy Manager.
