Virtual Town Hall – How a Clean Slate Can Change Lives

The expungement process in Missouri is difficult, time-consuming, and expensive, and is blocking many of the 1 in 3 adults living with a criminal record from accessing fair housing, employment, and educational opportunities. Join Empower Missouri and other Clean Slate campaign leaders to hear from those most impacted why the time is right for automatic expungement in Missouri.

The Town Hall will feature Patty Berger, Deputy Public Administrator for the City of St. Louis and President of the St. Louis chapter of All of Us or None, Basia Skudrzyk, Workforce Equity Director at Prison to Professionals and founder and CEO of World Wide Smart Beauty, and Johnny Waller Jr., CEO of the JLW Group LLC and founder and Executive Director of S.C.O.P.E. (Second Chance Organized People Empowered).

Our speakers will discuss the collateral consequences of a criminal record, and how automatic expungement could open up new possibilities and remove barriers that will change lives for people living with criminal records.
