El clima invernal agrega nuevos desafíos de supervivencia para los habitantes de Missouri que luchan contra la pandemia y la recesión

As the days grow shorter and temperatures drop, advocates from Empower Missouri and several ally organizations have been meeting weekly to discuss what we can do to keep utility service secure for all of our neighbors this winter. Obviously our state will have better outcomes during the coronavirus pandemic and recession if we do not see a spike in homelessness, especially during months where that is especially deadly.

On November 19, our Director of Policy and Organizing and representatives from the Missouri Community Action Network and Consumers Council of Missouri met with the Parson Administration to talk about our concerns and to suggest some steps that can be taken. Conversations are ongoing, and we can use your help.

Please read the sign on letter AQUÍ and consider adding your name. This will be shared with Governor Parson and possibly with representatives of Missouri’s many utility companies as well.
