Position Title: Mid-MO Field Organizer

Reports to: Affordable Housing Policy Manager (AHPM)

Position Summary: Empower Missouri is seeking passionate and dedicated Field Organizers to join our deep canvassing project in Mid-Missouri. Field Organizers will be responsible for engaging with community members, conducting transformative conversations, and recruiting new members to tenant unions.

Position Type: Part-Time; Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

• Canvass assigned turf and engage in transformative conversations with community members.
• Collect data and feedback from interactions and submit reports to staff after each shift.
• Work closely with AHPM and other team members to achieve project goals.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in community organizing or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Passion for social justice and tenant rights.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance and reliable vehicle.

Schedule:

5-10 hours per week, including significant availability on weekends and/or evenings (peak canvassing times), until October 2024.

Compensation:

$25 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement of $0.67/mile

Boone County, MO or Cole County, MO
