Hello! My name is Nay’Chelle Harris, and I’m excited to join Empower Missouri as its new Development & Operations Manager. In my role, I support the organization’s fundraising efforts, serve as lead for managing the logistics of our Friday Forums and annual Anti–Poverty Advocates Summit, and provide staff support for Empower Missouri’s Regional Councils. I also manage a host of internal operations, the details of which I won’t subject you to the boredom of reading.
Over the past 10 years I’ve worked at a variety of nonprofits, many of which addressed the same issues central to Empower Missouri’s mission of securing equal justice and basic human needs for every Missourian. Whether it was cash bail reform, the Fight for $15, or fair housing, supporting impacted communities and advocates has been a through line of my career. I jumped at the chance to work at Empower Missouri because I couldn’t wait to merge my fundraising and administrative background with the opportunity to support a small-but-mighty staff working to ensure state and local governments work in the best interest of Missouri’s most vulnerable residents.
