Born and raised in Hong Kong to a Filipino mother and Puerto Rican father, Vee Sanchez has lived in southwest Missouri since 2006. She has organized her community as a grassroots leader with Missouri Jobs with Justice, First Unitarian Universalist Church of Springfield, KC Tenants, and The Coalition to Protect MO Tenants, and is a founding member of grassroots tenants organization Springfield Tenants Unite. Vee’s vision of the just housing system we all deserve is rooted in the lived experiences of deeply impacted poor and working class tenants throughout the state, along with her own experiences with housing insecurity. She now serves as a member of the policy staff focusing on affordable housing in southwest Missouri.
