Pierre Yancy, originally from Overland Park Kansas, attended Blue Valley West High School in Stillwell, Kansas from 2004 to 2007. During his time at BVW, he achieved the distinction of being a three-time varsity letterman in both football and golf. After high school, Pierre pursued higher education at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, majoring in Strategic Communications and Public Relations. Unfortunately, his college journey was cut short as he returned to Kansas City to provide care and support for his ailing grandfather.

In November 2013, Pierre founded his inaugural company, “ThinkTank Solutions,” specializing in custom software development, website design and development, marketing, and public relations. Then, in March 2015, he took on the role of Managing Partner at Lumova Energy, focusing on Commercial LED Lighting and Solar Energy. In 2019, Lumova Energy expanded its services by creating “Lumova Aerial & Media,” a Drone Service Provider, with the support of funding from the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City.

In December 2018, Pierre took on a philanthropic role, joining the boards of directors of two non-profit organizations: Street Medicine KC and Nourish KC, one of Kansas City’s largest non-profits dedicated to providing nutritious meals to underserved populations. Currently, Pierre serves as the Chairman of Nourish KC’s advocacy committee.

By January 2019, Pierre had transitioned into the realm of political communications, being hired as the Director of Communications for Jermaine Reed’s campaign for Kansas City Mayor. In this capacity, he managed all digital assets, social media, and public relations. That same year, he assumed the same role for Melissa Robinson’s campaign for the 3rd District City Council in Kansas City, Missouri. Later in 2019, Pierre was appointed as Director of Communications for Ashley Bland Manlove’s campaign for District 26 Missouri State House of Representatives. Following her election victory, Manlove was elected as Chairwoman of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus. In total, Pierre has worked as Director of Communications for a diverse range of political campaigns, including those for Mayor, County Legislator, Municipal Judge, City Council, and State Representative.
