Lucas Caldwell-McMillan joined Empower Missouri in August 2024 as the Chief of Policy Staff. He worked as a Legal Aid lawyer on behalf of his community for 16 years, most recently with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. Lucas also served as Associated Director of Policy for a national nonprofit focused on improving access to SNAP, Medicaid, and other public benefits. He received a JD cum laude from the University of Michigan and a BA from Kalamazoo College.
