Town Hall: Missouri’s (In)Justice System- Building Community Power

Connect and learn with us this month as we work toward making sure that every Missourian can access equal justice under the law!

Empower Missouri’s team will be holding Town Halls this summer and fall to hear from Missouri communities. Join Empower Missouri on Thursday, August 21st, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at the Kansas City Central Library for our first in a series of town halls focused on criminal legal system advocacy. Missouri’s (In)Justice System: Building Community Power will feature panelists from several Kansas City-based organizations engaged in deep advocacy work, from organizing to prevent the construction of a new city jail (Decarcerate KC) to amplifying the voices of family members with incarcerated loved ones in Jefferson City (Mothers of Incarcerated Sons and Daughters). We will discuss ways to get involved in local and state advocacy efforts and provide legislative updates from the 2025 legislative session. We hope you will join us for this special event highlighting changemakers in Kansas City and beyond.

Please RSVP below to let us know you’re coming. You can also sign up for our newsletters to make sure you hear about additional upcoming events or other opportunities to get involved.
