Join the Advocates Book Club

Are you interested in learning more about poverty in Missouri, and how YOU can help change the systems that perpetuate it? Do you want to meet other advocates and expand your network? Then join our Advocates Book Club!

From January to March of 2025, we’ll be reading two books focused on affordable housing and homelessness. Each book will be split into two parts, with an afternoon (12 to 1 p.m.) and evening (6 to 7 p.m.) opportunity to discuss each section. All book discussions will be held on Zoom, so you are welcome to join from anywhere!

This winter’s book discussions will include:

  • When We Walk By: Forgotten Humanity, Broken Systems, and the Role We Can Each Play in Ending Homelessness in America, by Kevin F. Adler, Donald W. Burnes, and Amanda Banh Andrijana Bilbija
    • Session One: January 23rd
    • Session Two: February 6th
  • Homelessness is a Housing Problem: How Structural Factors Explain U.S. Patterns, by Gregg Colburn and Clayton Page Aldern
    • Session One: February 20th
    • Session Two: March 6th

Register below to receive the Zoom information and get reminders for our discussion sessions. We hope you’ll join us this!
