Conner Kerrigan is a justice advocate and writer from Chicago, IL. After quitting his career in advertising in 2016, he sought a deeper professional purpose, and was connected with criminal justice advocates in Chicago through his church. He began his social justice career as the Business Development Manager for the North Lawndale Employment Network, an organization that connects returning citizens to permanent employment in an effort to reduce recidivism and violence on the West Side of Chicago. Conner now serves as the Communications Director for Empower Missouri, utilizing his marketing, writing, and digital expertise to support and foster Empower Missouri’s advocacy mission. He believes that the right combination of words, spoken by the right people, can light a candle, rather than curse the darkness. He chooses to do this and the other things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
