Our work focuses on advancing policies that protect tenants, increase housing stability, and address the systemic barriers that make housing unaffordable for many Missourians.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this role, you\u2019ll contribute to community outreach, policy research, coalition-building, and public education efforts that support change at both the state and local level. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in housing justice, public policy, and grassroots advocacy.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>What You\u2019ll Do<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help plan, promote, and support town halls, community forums, and educational events related to housing and tenant rights<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connect with tenants, community members, and housing advocates to support outreach efforts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participate in tabling and outreach events to share information about Empower Missouri\u2019s housing work<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research opportunities to expand engagement with impacted communities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conduct research on affordable housing policies at the state and local level<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write policy briefs, fact sheets, and other materials on key housing issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help prepare and submit testimony and attend hearings or city council meetings as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support coordination and logistics for the Affordable Housing Coalition<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with partner communication and relationship-building<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help track volunteers and support advocacy efforts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain organized records of outreach, events, and campaign progress<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What We\u2019re Looking For<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic understanding of housing issues and systems in Missouri.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment to housing justice + <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/empowermissouri.org\/es\/about-us\/mission\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Empower Missouri\u2019s mission and values<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We strongly encourage people who are currently tenants or who have lived experiences with unstable or unaffordable housing to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Time Commitment<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">15 hours per week (flexible schedule).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Availability for some meetings between 9:00 a.m. \u2013 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work remotely, with occasional travel to support in-person events or advocacy efforts in Mid-Missouri and the state capitol.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>COMPENSATION<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$15.00\/hour<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>REPORTS TO<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Affordable Housing Policy Manager<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>HOW TO APPLY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please send your resume<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and a brief<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cover letter to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:jobs@empowermissouri.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">jobs@empowermissouri.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
