The Communications Manager will work independently and with a team to help grow Empower Missouri\u2019s reach throughout the state. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in writing, social media content creation and management, website management, and\/or graphic design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roles &amp; Responsibilities:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Communications Support for Coalitions + Campaigns + Events<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Serve as the primary communications lead for Empower Missouri\u2019s food security campaigns and initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead story banking initiatives for our food security priorities, including coordinating, interviewing, writing, and publicizing stories gathered from individuals with lived experience with food insecurity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capture and edit photography and video at events and actions at the Capitol as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Organizational Communications<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead content creation, design, and execution of social media strategy across platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with the Development Manager to develop and implement fundraising campaigns (e.g., Give STL Day, Giving Tuesday).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create and implement a video strategy for social media, website, and other digital communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain and update the organizational website regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage and regularly update any food security-related campaign microsites (currently, the Food Access for a Lifetime and Rural Food Access Partnership microsites).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design digital content including graphics, infographics, and video clips for various campaigns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Communications Operations<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monitor and report analytics for websites and social media channels, identifying trends and growth opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with additional communications research, planning, and development as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passion for ending poverty and ensuring all Missourians have access to affordable housing, adequate nutrition, and equal justice under the law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A commitment to social justice + Empower Missouri&#8217;s mission and values.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong writing skills are required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in graphic design, photography, HTML, WordPress, EveryAction, and Google Ads is a plus, but not required. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Desired Education and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u20133 years of experience in communications, social media, marketing, or a related field. Experience in nonprofit settings is strongly preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empower Missouri values lived experience, passion, and demonstrated skill over formal credentials. Applicants from a range of educational and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Salary Range and Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">$50,000-$65,000 starting salary with annual opportunities for merit-based and cost-of-living raises; health, life, dental, and vision insurance; generous PTO policy, paid holidays, and retirement plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Location of Position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a remote position open to candidates based in Missouri.
