{"id":12920,"date":"2025-05-21T15:55:32","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T20:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empowermissouri.org\/?p=12920"},"modified":"2025-05-21T15:56:54","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T20:56:54","slug":"were-searching-for-community-representatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empowermissouri.org\/es\/were-searching-for-community-representatives\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re Searching For Community Representatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Position Title:<\/strong> Community Representative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Position Summary:<\/strong> The Missouri Rural Food Access Partnership (<strong>MRFAP<\/strong>) seeks passionate and engaged community members to serve as <strong>Community Representatives<\/strong> on our advisory board.<br>This role offers a meaningful opportunity to advocate for improved nutrition security in<br>rural Missouri, share local perspectives, and help shape initiatives that strengthen the<br>state\u2019s food systems.<br>Our goal is to <strong>build a stronger food system for every community in Missouri by<br>maximizing the existing resources and strengths<\/strong>. Community Representatives are<br>essential partners in achieving this mission.<br>In addition to guiding MRFAP&#8217;s work, representatives will help identify individuals in their<br>communities who can be interviewed for community profiles that highlight the local food<br>system&#8217;s resources and challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Represent the needs and perspectives of your community related to nutrition security and food access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend and actively participate in three in-person meetings annually and monthly online meetings during other months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share personal and community experiences to help guide MRFAP programs and strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with local residents, organizations, and stakeholders to strengthen the food system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help identify barriers to nutrition security and suggest practical, community-based solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with outreach and engagement efforts to ensure diverse community voices are heard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify individuals for a media story about your community\u2019s food system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in training and support activities to engage in local and state advocacy efforts to strengthen Missouri\u2019s food system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Resident of a rural Missouri community with experience navigating food and nutrition access challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Passionate about ensuring all Missourians have access to nutritious, affordable food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfortable sharing stories and encouraging others to share theirs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Willing to collaborate with people from various backgrounds and experiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No formal education or professional experience required\u2014<strong>lived experience is highly valued.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commitment &amp; Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Meetings:<\/strong> 3 in-person meetings per year (locations may vary) and monthly online meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time Commitment:<\/strong> 1\u20132 hours per month outside of meetings, as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Compensation:<\/strong> $50 monthly stipend for active participation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Travel Support:<\/strong> A gas card will be provided to offset travel expenses for in-person meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advocacy Training:<\/strong> MRFAP will provide training and support to help representatives engage in effective <strong>local and state-level advocacy.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Term: <\/strong>Through <strong>June 2027, dependent on continued grant funding.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Aplicar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply, please submit a short written or video statement describing your interest in the<br>role and your connection to nutrition security efforts in your community.<br>Send applications to<strong> amanda@empowermissouri.org<\/strong> by Friday, June 27, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-fe48e5de wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-black-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-text-align-center wp-element-button\" href=\"http:\/\/empowermissouri.org\/es\/app\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Development-Manager-Job-Description-April-2025-DRAFT.pdf\/\" style=\"background-color:#fcd116\">Download as a PDF<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Position Title: Community Representative Position Summary: The Missouri Rural Food Access Partnership (MRFAP) seeks passionate and engaged community members to serve as Community Representatives on our advisory board.This role offers a meaningful opportunity to advocate for improved nutrition security inrural Missouri, share local perspectives, and help shape initiatives that strengthen thestate\u2019s food systems.Our goal is [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[94],"tags":[28,714,525,456],"issues":[],"coauthors":[447],"class_list":["post-12920","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog-post","tag-food-security","tag-position","tag-staff","tag-staff-update"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
