Escuche a los expertos: Salud materna negra

In the United States and Kansas City, Black women are three to four times more likely to die of pregnancy related complications than their white peers. Black infants are nearly twice as likely to die. Black, college educated women are more likely to have complications in childbirth than white women who never finished high school.

What causes these disparities and more importantly, what can be done about it? The Kansas City chapter of Empower Missouri has partnered with Uzazi Village to explore this topic in our First Friday Forum in May. Hakima Payne will lead a 90 minute panel on the topic starting at 12:00 noon after 30 minutes for networking. Join us.
